Dedicated Accountant Service

A named accountant looking after your books, GST and income tax filings through the year.

Most small businesses do not need a full-time accountant, but they do need one person who knows their books, watches their deadlines and can be reached when something arrives from a department. What they usually have instead is a bookkeeper who records entries and a consultant who appears at year end.

A dedicated accountant arrangement puts a named person on your file year-round. They maintain the books, file your GST and TDS returns, prepare the financial statements and handle the income tax return, working from a single set of records rather than reconstructing at the last minute.

  • GST returns filed monthly or quarterly, with input credit reconciled against GSTR-2B
  • Quarterly TDS returns and issue of the resulting certificates
  • Advance tax computed and flagged before each instalment
  • Financial statements prepared at year end
  • Income tax return prepared and filed
  • Departmental notices reviewed, with a reply drafted where needed
  • A monthly report showing profit, receivables and cash position

Why one person across all of it matters

The expensive errors in small business compliance sit in the gaps between people. GST turnover that does not agree with the income tax return; TDS deducted but reported against the wrong PAN; input credit lost because nobody chased a supplier before the claim window closed.

Those are all reconciliation failures between two sets of records maintained by different people. One accountant working from one set of books removes the gap rather than managing it.

What it does not include

A statutory audit, where your entity requires one, must be done by an independent auditor. That is a legal separation, not a commercial one, and the auditor’s fee is payable directly to them.

Representation in a serious assessment or an appeal is also quoted separately, because the work is materially different from routine compliance.

How we handle it

  1. 1 Taking over the file We review the last year or two of filings so anything already mis-filed is identified before we take responsibility.
  2. 2 Setting up The chart of accounts is structured around your business and the compliance calendar is mapped.
  3. 3 Monthly cycle You share documents on an agreed cut-off; books are closed and returns filed within their deadlines.
  4. 4 Reconciliation GST, TDS and book figures are reconciled every period rather than at year end.
  5. 5 Reporting You receive a monthly report on profit, receivables and cash, not just a filing acknowledgement.
  6. 6 Year end Financial statements are prepared and the income tax return filed, with the auditor coordinated where one is required.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as hiring an accountant?

It is a retainer rather than employment. You get a named person and defined deliverables without the cost and management of a salaried hire.

Can you take over mid-year?

Yes, and we start with a review of what has already been filed. It is better to know about a problem in a prior period before we take responsibility for the account.

Does this include the statutory audit?

No. Where your entity requires an audit, it must be conducted by an independent auditor and their fee is paid directly to them. We coordinate the process.

What if I get a notice?

Routine notices are reviewed and answered as part of the engagement. A full scrutiny assessment or an appeal is quoted separately because the work is substantially different.

Do I need my own accounting software?

Not necessarily. We work in whatever you already use, or maintain the books at our end and give you the reports and the data.

What is not included. Government fees, statutory charges, stamp duty, court and registry fees, digital signature costs and any third-party professional charges are separate and payable at actuals. GST applies on professional fees where indicated. Prices shown are indicative and may change without notice; we confirm the total in writing before any work begins — see our terms on pricing.
